The FUTURE SELF Project Film documents the creative working process, which began in London, England, continued in Berlin and culminated in three wonderful performances at MADE.

FUTURE SELF studies human movement, mirroring interaction in dance, light and sound, while exploring the self – present, and future.

The performances at MADE were the culmination of the several months-long working process, with the audience being part of the final step in this alchemy of senses. We are grateful that so many of our old friends and new faces were able to be part of this wonderful experience.

When seeing someone on the street or meeting new people we immediately judge them by their appearance and their looks.

When we first heard we will be meeting and speaking with Rick Genest, a guy better known as Zombie Boy, these alleged preconceptions immediately kicked in: covered in tattoos + piercings + dressed fully in black and leather = trouble-maker, party animal, loud, etc.

But what we experienced was quite the opposite. Rick achieved world fame as the face of fashion house Thierry Mugler, where he was discovered by no other than creative director Nicola Formichetti. Shortly after, he became the muse in Lady Gaga’s video “Born this way” and since then evolved to everybody’s darling in the creative industry.

When Rick first stepped into MADE, he was rather shy, didn’t talk much, but was always polite and friendly. After a while he opened up more and more and got excited to tell us his story, and we realized that he’s just normal guy -  enthusiastic about life and thrilled to see the world – just like us.

Well, almost…of course, he was weird, and he did his best to appear that way.

We would like to share an album of our friend, violinist and composer Mihalj “MIKI” Kekenj, who we had the pleasure of working with on Valse Automatique, our Moments Series Chapter One (with Aloe Blacc) & Two (with Erykah Badu).

For this studio album, “Opus1″, MIKI and other artists came together to performe MIKIs music with musicians from different symphonic orchestras.  It includes performances by Curse, Chima, MC Rene, Mellow Mark, Ono & the Opus1 Band.

Since we like when people try new things, we are fascinated by the clash between those Hip Hop rhymes and great orchestra musicians.

MIKI about the project: “Opus1 simply connects everything that I know and love in music.”
