Qubique is the new furniture and product design show held at the iconic abandoned airport Tempelhof in Berlin. The two brainchilds behind this project, Matthias Schmid and Ulrich Weingärtner, saw a lack of bringing together the best-of-the best in contemporary furniture design and encouraged the big players in the industry such us Vitra, Thonet, Established & Sons etc. to showcase their masterpieces. Combined with new and upcoming designers and the vital integration of music and entertainment in the most of the time rather dull trade fair environment, led to a huge success of their first show in October.
Before the opening we had the chance to sit together with Matthias and Ulrich to talk about their visions, their inspirations and their dreams.
