teamMADE recently attended the German premiere of the film “Dirty Old Town” at Kino BABYLON, which was screened as part of the “Unknown Pleasures” Summer Special film festival.

The film, produced and directed by up-and-coming New York filmmakers Dan Levin, Jenner Furst and Julia Nason, provides a fleeting glimpse of Downtown New York, framed around the story of the shattered dreams of an antiques merchant has 72 hours to pay his rent.

The evening also featured the screening of “Captured”, a documentary produced and directed by the same team, which shines a light on the work of Clayton Patterson, who, since 1979, has dedicated his life to documenting the final era of raw creativity and lawlessness in New York City’s Lower East Side.

Both films provide unique insight into the life and times of the different characters that make New York’s Lower East Side so special.

Thanks to everyone who attended the screenings, and thanks to Dan, Jenner and Julia for sharing their talent with us.

Special thanks to Hannes Bruhwiler.
